All large group health care plans offered through Paychex Premier include a Health Insurance Administration Service (HIAS) to help simplify plan management. Depending on your carrier, our HIAS may be able to notify you of employee eligibility, facilitate enrollment throughout the company, keep track of premiums and deductions, and ultimately help your large business maintain legislative compliance.

Eligibility

Our HIAS provides eligibility notification whenever your company adds employees or terminates them from payroll. For certain carriers, we can also process the additions and terminations.

Enrollment

As part of our HIAS, your Human Resources Representative is available to consult with you regarding the explanation of plan options to new employees, as well as conducting annual open enrollment meetings.

Automatic Premium Payments from Your Account

We collect the employer and employee portions of your company's health insurance premium and make the appropriate payments to the carrier via electronic billing and remittance. Our HIAS also reconciles your bill on a monthly basis to ensure that employee coverage levels and billing are correct.

Payroll Integration

Our HIAS automatically deducts the employees' portion of the premium through payroll integration — improving the efficiency and accuracy of your company's health insurance payments.

HIAS Support

Our relationships with over 150 national and regional insurers allow us to work directly with the carrier on billing and other administrative issues, and to resolve enrollment discrepancies. Your Human Resources Representative is also available to answer your questions and expedite service.
